This is why we do what we do

"I would like to thank the GRA team for all their help organising our event again this year. The group was double the amount we had last year and we had fantastic feedback from all the staff from the UK, US and India offices. Please pass on our thanks to all of the instructors and organisers. It was amazing how they remembered us from last year and it was great to have the same instructors as last year too. I already have staff asking about next year's team building event."

'Challenge by Choice'

Our team building activities are designed to be enjoyed by and be accessible to all participants, which is why we recognise that everyone is challenged by new situations in different ways and to varying degrees.

We are also aware that many team building activities can create peer or instructor-led pressure, in which people feel pushed into doing things they don't really want to do. It is important to us at GRA that we operate a strict Challenge by Choice policy, where the level of participation is set solely by
the individual.

Our responsibility is to create a safe environment that enables people to stretch their comfort zone without physical or emotional discomfort or panic. While people are encouraged to take part and enjoy themselves, at no time is anyone persuaded to go beyond the boundaries that they set for themselves.

Tips to make the most of team building events

Corporate team building events can be valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and enhance collaboration among team members. Here are some tips to make the most of these events:

  • Encourage your team to lose some of their inhibitions and step outside of their comfort zones

  • Choose activities that you think that everyone will enjoy and are going to help bond your team
  • Take time on the day to recognise you team's achievements and how they've worked together

  • Have your management team on-hand to show support

What activities do you offer?

GRA offer a wide range of team building activities. To find out more about what activities we offer go to our activities page.

Do you run both indoor and outdoor activities?

Yes, we have an excellent range of both indoor and outdoor team building activities that range from physical, to non-physical. To find out more about what activities we offer go to our activities page.

Do you offer activities that cater to people of all abilities?

Yes, we have a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities that are both fun and inclusive for everyone. Whether you’re looking for desktop puzzles and team problem-solving exercises or adrenaline-fuelled activities like laser combat and high ropes, or something in between, we can cater your team building package to suit you.

GRA also operates a strict ‘challenge by choice’ policy which you can find out more about via our team building page.

Will you still run outdoor activities if it's raining?

Yes, we run outdoor activities come rain or shine, and provide wet weather gear should you happen to be with us on a soggy day! Occasionally there are weather-related circumstances that can prevent us from running outdoor activities such as lightning, very high winds or freak weather conditions, however, we will always assess this on a case-by-case basis and will never put any of our delegates or staff outside in unsafe conditions.

If you have a team-building event booked with us and are worried about how weather conditions may affect you, please give us a call on 0118 230 8119.

How many people can you accommodate at any one time at your training centres?

Our centre in Reading at Wokefield Estate can hold up to 300 people at any one time, while our centre at St George’s Park can hold up to 150 people at once.

Please note that if you are wanting us to run a team-building event for you at, or close to our threshold numbers, then this usually requires you to have exclusive access to our centre which is availability and cost dependent.

Over what durations do you run your team building events?

Typically, we offer our team building packages over durations of 3 hours, half a day, a full day, or multiple days.

If you are looking to include some of our activities as part of your conference, then our conference energisers are typically 60-90 minutes.

What happens if someone in the group has a fear of heights, can they still participate in your outdoor activities?

Yes, we offer plenty of activities that don’t involve heights. We can also teach people the art of belaying and spotting their teammates who do want to participate in high ropes activities so everyone is involved even if they aren’t taking part in a particular activity in the traditional sense.

When booking or enquiring with us, please let us know if you have any specific needs or concerns and we can talk you through the best team building package for you.

What are your policies and procedures when it comes to health & safety, insurance, risk assessments, etc?

At GRA we take the health and safety of our delegates and staff extremely seriously and we have an impeccable record to show for it. If you are thinking about booking a team build with us or have an existing booking and want to understand more about any of the above, please give us a call on 01962 571008 and we will be more than happy to provide any information you need.

How much does your training cost?

The cost of your training reflects the specific program you choose. We understand that every organisation has unique needs. Tell us your goals, number of participants, and desired levels of customisation, and we'll craft a training package that fits your budget. We prioritise transparency, so you'll always know exactly what's included and how much it costs.
