Speakers from GRA and Clipper Round the World Yacht Race will be presenting at CIPD Wessex on Wednesday 5th February 2020 to describe the unique leadership and team challenges posed by one of the toughest races in the world and the lessons that can be applied within the workplace.
This promises to be a fascinating evening hearing about the approach and outcomes and will be of interest and relevance to anyone in a leadership, management or team role.
As a result of attending this event you will:
- Understand how the Skippers and AQP’s were prepared both from a leadership and team development perspective.
- The skills and behaviours that are considered important and the leadership models, techniques and support the skippers and teams receive
- The methods utilised by GRA to pair the Skippers and AQP’s together for 12 months together leading a team of amateur sailors. Although the crew may be amateur sailors and come from all walks of life many are very senior leaders themselves in their professional lives.
