On Friday 22nd April 2016, GRA ran our eleventh Leading Change event at our Corporate Outdoor Learning Centre, Reading.
The ever-popular Leading Change offers senior HR and L&D professionals the chance to experience a variety of learning and development solutions offered by GRA; including our unique business scenarios. A wide range of industries were represented with attendees including: London Business School, QinetiQ, Biffa, De La Rue, Miele and WHSmiths.
The event provides attendees with an insight into the true delegate experience on a GRA training programme. The morning offers introductory workshops to the VitalSmarts suite of culture and behaviour change programmes - Influencer and Crucial Conversations - followed by an afternoon participating in an outdoor experiential team building programme.
The workshops introduce the group to the concepts of developing a high performing team through a strategic model for successful change initiatives as well as the skills to hold difficult conversations. In the afternoon, the GRA-designed business scenario requires the group to complete a range of fun and challenging indoor and outdoor team activities to meet specific business objectives. These range from desktop problem-solving challenges to engaging in laser combat or jumping off the trapeze.
The scenario is designed to replicate common organisational challenges such as working to tight deadlines, adapting plans to changing business conditions, learning on the job and effective team collaboration. Following completion of the scenario, our facilitator-led reviews help attendees to understand how to improve team performance and take the learning back to their own organisation.
Leading Change highlights the importance of providing employees with opportunities to practice and apply theory that they have been taught so that learning transfer is greatly improved once they return to the workplace.
