Why Dolphins?

Nineteen centuries ago, Plutarch, the Greek moralist and biographer said:

"to the dolphin alone, beyond all other, nature has granted what the best philosophers seek: friendship for no advantage"
Many of our delegates ask us about the connection between GRA and dolphins. We do not tell them immediately, but let them enjoy the experience and challenge of exploring and discussing it amongst themselves!

In today's world, we are still learning so much about Dolphins, and for us they demonstrate much of what we believe are great behaviours for individuals, and teams and organisations.
  • They are inventive, playful, sensitive and responsive
  • They are skilled communicators
  • They adapt their behaviour quickly, precisely and ingeniously to make sure they get what they want. They like to win, but they do not need you to lose
  • They act on the big picture, but can also fix on the smallest detail
  • Dolphins thrive in all seas and oceans of the world – alone or in large schools
  • They are unyielding on principle, unless the principle no longer makes sense
  • Dolphins enjoy being dolphins and they welcome a challenge that requires them to do something new and different
At GRA, we invite you to embrace the challenge, enjoy being you, and discover, develop and release your potential to allow you to do something new and different.

Finally… it has been suggested that the reason that dolphins always seem to be grinning is that they understand the human language and are waiting for us to learn theirs…… only time will tell.
