Vision & Strategy DevelopmentAt GRA, we believe that there are three key steps to the development and implementation of a vision, whether for a team, function or organisation:
The process starts by assessing the factors likely to impact the team, function or organisation over the next 5 years - breaking this down into the Political, Economic, Social, Technical, Legislative and Environmental (PESTLE) factors. There is then an honest review and assessment of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) in the light of the future challenges. At this point, the group agrees the level of influence they have over the issues (High, Medium or Low). Using the ‘see-hear-feel’ approach, the group then develops an achievement-based vision including identified and prioritised critical success factors. Finally and most importantly, they define and scope a set of discrete projects to deliver the vision, agree who is accountable for each, and agree how to integrate these into the business management / reporting cycles.
